This guide navigates you through the steps where you authenticate Valotalive with your SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) tenant using the key-pair authentication method. After the successful authentication, you can activate the SAP apps in Valotalive and start displaying stories (reports & dashboards) on the Valotalive digital signage displays.

Note: This is an early access app and will be opened upon request. You will also need SAP Admin access to go through these steps.

Step 1 (In SAP) Copy Authorisation & Token URLs

Navigate to the ”System” -> “Administration” tab

Access the “App Integration” page. From there, copy the Authorization URL and Token URL.

Note: The URLs displayed on the image are for illustrative purposes only; your actual URLs will differ.

Step 2 (In Valotalive) Paste the copied information to your SAP Integration page

Open the Valotalive Dashboard

Navigate to to “My Account” -> Service Integrations

Click the "Authenticate" button to access the configuration settings.

As per the provided image, input the Authorization URL and Token URL into their respective fields.

Step 3 (in SAP) Add a new OAuth client

On the “App integration” page in SAP click the “Add a New OAuth Client” button.

This will open a pop-up dialog. Within the dialog, follow these steps:

  1. Name your OAuth Client: Enter "Valotalive" (this is just an example, you can choose a different name).

  2. Purpose: Leave the "Interactive Usage" option selected.

  3. Redirect URI: Enter the following URL in the designated field: https://rest.valota.live/oauth2/sap

  4. Other Settings: You can leave all other settings as default unless you have specific requirements. However, you have the option to adjust them if needed.

  5. Click "Add". This will save your OAuth Client settings and generate an OAuth Client ID and Client Secret for you.

  6. Locate the OAuth Client ID displayed below the "OAuth Client ID" field. Copy this ID. Then, paste it into the designated field within the Valotalive platform.

  7. Locate the Client Secret and copy it by clicking the "Copy Secret" button, as shown in the image. Then, paste it into the designated field within the Valotalive platform.

Step 4 (in SAP) Add Valotalive as a Trusted Origin

  1. Click the "Add a Trusted Origin" button.

  2. A new section will appear to define trusted origins. Enter each of the following URLs in separate rows:

    • https://*.valota.test (this allows access for all subdomains under valota.test)

    • https://*.tst.vlt.lv (this allows access for all subdomains under tst.vlt.lv)

    • https://*.valota.live (this allows access for all subdomains under valota.live)

Note: Using wildcards (*) in the URL allows access from any subdomain within the specified domain

Remember to hit “Save” once you are done.

Step 5 Copy your Tenant link address

On the “Tenant links” page in SAP copy the link provided under “SAP Analytics Cloud URL” Then, paste it into the designated field within the Valotalive platform.

Step 6 Save your Valotalive settings

Ensure all fields in the Valotalive SAP Authorization Configuration settings are complete. Once verified, click "OK" to save your changes.

Valotalive will then confirm the saved settings and authorization with “SAP authorization successful”

Next, you can start activating apps.
