Valotalive Control App turns your static info screens into interactive displays! You can take temporary control of the screen using your mobile device by scanning a QR code.

Preparations before the presentation time

Connect to your screen using the Control app

There are two ways to establish a connection:

A. Scan the QR Code

  • Use your camera app (iPhone) or a QR code scanner app (Android) to scan the QR code displayed on the info screen. Google Lens works too.

  • Once scanned, the Control app should automatically establish the connection.

B. Navigate to the Control Web App

  • Navigate to control.valota.live using your mobile phone's browser. Chrome is recommended, Safari works too.

Enter the PIN code displayed on the bottom of the QR code.

Playing Content

  • Once logged in, you'll see the available content sliding on your phone's screen as well as on the info display.

  • Simply tap the play button next to the content you want to show on the info screen.

    Control app Play button

  • Tap "Stop" to return to the main screen.

Playing a Multi-Page PDF

  • If you're showing a PDF document with multiple pages, you can use the "Prev" and "Next" buttons to navigate between pages.

Optional: Using Categories:

Categories act like folders to group similar content.

  • To use categories:

    • An admin must first create the categories in the Control App settings.

    • The uploaded content in the My Content Channel need to be assigned to the respective categories.

    • Use the categories when uploading presentations.

    • Select a category at the top of the phone screen to view all the content assigned to it.

Heads up: Screen lock can interrupt your Control session!

The mobile phone’s screen lock will log you out of the Control application.

Stay Connected During Your Presentation:

To prevent accidental disconnection from the Control app during a long presentation, you have a few options:

  • Tap the Screen Occasionally: You can occasionally tap the screen to reset the idle timer and prevent it from locking.

  • Adjust your screen timeout: If you prefer keeping the lock on, consider extending the screen timeout to avoid accidental dimming or sleep mode during your presentation. You can find the screen timeout settings in your phone's display or security options.

  • Turn off your phone's screen lock: This ensures you stay connected throughout your presentation.
