How to Name Your Displays Descriptively
Include the location and audience type in the display name to make it easy to identify what is shown and to whom β whether the content is for employees (internal) or visitors (external).
A good display name answers two questions: Where is this display? and Who is it for?
Examples:
Acme Corp US Peoria Cafeteria 3rd FloorWonka Ind MX Monterrey Lobby (External)UK London 3rd Fl Cafeteria [Acme.22.03]
About display ID tags
If your display has an ID tag, keep it in the name even after moving or renaming the display β it's the fastest way to identify a specific device when troubleshooting.
Example: [Acme.26.03]
Part | Meaning |
Acme | Company or group name |
26 | Year of enrollment |
03 | Unique consecutive device number |
If your displays have ID tags, do not remove or change them when relocating a display. These IDs help identify devices quickly when troubleshooting.
