Google Slides is a great way to give your coworkers a tool for uploading their messages to the info displays easily yet still limit their access to only their own displays. Here is a couple of tips for you to get the most out of your Google Slides - Valotalive Displays setup.

Keep it short

Limit the pages of your presentation to a max 15 slide pages.

With too many pages the essentials of the message might not hit the target.

Target your messages

Create your own Slides decks and Slides app for each separate target audience or display group.

A single Slides App can have more than one Slides deck linked with it at the same time.

Separate Slides decks for editing and publishing

Slides app updates contents in 15 minutes cycles. When updating the contents to the display’s Slides App takes screenshots of the actual Slides contents. To avoid half-edited versions ending up on screens we recommend using two separate Slides decks for the same purpose:

  • LIVE version and

  • EDIT version

Editing will be done in the EDIT version and copy-pasted into the LIVE version to prohibit unfinished content shown on the screens. Once you are ready with editing just copy-paste the ready contents to the LIVE slides deck for optimal result. It helps to name your slides decks accordingly.
