How to use the Valotalive Personal Player

The Valotalive Personal Player is a browser-based display that runs in a browser tab on your computer. It lets you test content and Flows without any additional hardware. Once claimed, it behaves exactly like a regular Valotalive display.

Not for production use: The Personal Player is intended for testing and evaluation only. Its use is prohibited by our terms. For production use, see the Web Player or the supported media player options.

How to set up the Personal Player

  1. Open your Valotalive Dashboard

    1. Go to the left side tab and click "Get player apps".

    2. Choose Valotalive Personal Player (for testing) and click "install". It opens the Personal Player URL in a second browser tab. (opens https//personal.valota.live)

  2. The tab shows the Valotalive logo and a claim link in the format

  3. Click the claim link. You will be taken to the Valotalive Dashboard, and the PIN code will be entered automatically – no typing needed.

  4. Confirm the claim and complete the setup to finish configuring your new display. The Personal Player tab is now a registered display in your Valotalive Dashboard.

QR code option: You can also scan the QR code with your phone to open the claim link without typing the URL.

Using the Personal Player

Once claimed, the Personal Player works like any other display in Valotalive.

You can:

  • Assign a Flow to it to preview how content cycles and transitions look.

  • Test individual apps and check how they render on screen.

  • Use it to verify scheduling settings before rolling out to physical displays.

To use the Personal Player, visit the specific URL link and keep the tab open. Switch back to it at any time to see what is currently being shown.

Best Practice Tip: Remember to save the URL of the Personal Player https://personal.valota.live in your bookmarks. Visiting the URL activates the player.

Returning to the player: The Personal Player persists as long as your browser cache is not cleared. If you close and reopen the browser, navigate back to the same URL, the display will resume. If you clear your browser cache or cookies, the player will reset and need to be claimed again.

Limitations

  • Testing only: The Personal Player is not intended for permanent or production use. It depends on the browser session and cache remaining intact.

  • Single tab: Each browser tab running the Personal Player URL is a separate display instance. Do not open the same URL in multiple tabs simultaneously.

  • Cache dependency: Clearing your browser cache or cookies will reset the player. You will need to claim it again as a new display.
