How to display Web pages on Digital Signage using the Web App

Display any web page or web-based dashboard - such as a lunch menu, transportation information, or live data dashboard - on your digital signage screens using the Valotalive Web App.

Key Features

  • Display any web page as a standalone app or as part of a content Flow

  • Adjustable display time per cycle

  • No Valotalive cloud involvement in data fetching - direct connection between the media player and the web page

What you need - requirements for Web page

Before activating, confirm the web page meets the following requirements:

  • iFrame support - the web page must support embedding via iFrame

  • HTTPS only - only secure connections are supported (URL must begin with https://)

  • No login required - the web page must not require username or password authentication, as the Valotalive Kiosk app does not support manual login

What IP addresses does the Web App use?

The Web App does not route traffic through Valotalive - media players communicate directly with the source web page. This means:

  • There are no Valotalive IP addresses to allowlist for Web App traffic

  • If the media player and the web server are on the same local network, all communication stays entirely within that network (LAN)

  • If the web page is hosted externally, traffic goes directly from the media player to that external server

If your IT team needs to allowlist access, they should allowlist the web page’s own server IP address - not Valotalive’s.

  4. Rename the App

    Web app rename field

Click the app name at the top of the page to rename it. Best practice is to use the web page name or URL for easy identification - especially when managing multiple Web App instances.
