What is the MS Power BI Overlay App?

The MS Power BI Overlay App lets viewers interact with Power BI reports directly on a display. They can explore report tabs, apply filters, and click links.

The app runs behind your main content, whether that is an App or a Flow. It appears instantly when someone clicks a mouse or taps the screen. Authentication is handled securely through Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).

A touch screen is needed or a mouse must be connected to the media player.

This feature is not available on SoC (built-in player) screens (Samsung Tizen).
