Use these steps if your Excel app was working previously but has stopped updating on your displays.
Step 1 – Reauthorize the Excel Integration
The most common cause for content stopping is an expired authorization between Valotalive and Microsoft.
Find the M365v2 integration and click Reauthorize
Step 2 – Check for Source Errors
Open the Excel app and go to the Information tab, look at these two fields for error messages:
Outstanding source reports
Latest notification from the source
These notifications come directly from the Microsoft Excel API and help identify the root cause.
Common errors and fixes:
Error | Fix |
Access Token has expired | The app owner needs to reauthorize the app |
Query error | Check that the configured data range in Valotalive matches your Excel report fields |
File not found | Confirm the Excel file is still in the same cloud location with the same name — if moved or renamed, re-establish the connection by pairing the file with the Valotalive app again |
Step 3 – Check the Source Status
Go to the app's Source tab
Check the Source is pushing data field:
✅ Green checkmark — connection is healthy, proceed to Step 2
❌ Red X — Valotalive is not receiving updates from Excel — see Excel App Not Working – Troubleshooting Guide for next steps
Step 3 – Trigger a Manual Refresh
💡 Tip: If the source status looks healthy but content is still not updating, make a small change to the app settings and save. This triggers a content refresh and pushes the latest data to your displays.
