How to reauthorize a Microsoft or Google app in Valotalive

Changed your Microsoft or Google password or had an access token expire? Your Valotalive content may have stopped updating. This article explains how to re-authorize your connection and get everything running again — without losing your apps or content.

Written by Leonie

Common triggers for needing to reauthorize:

• You recently changed your Microsoft or Google password

• Your IT team rotated credentials or updated OAuth policies

• Content from a Microsoft or Google app has stopped updating

• You were directed here after revoking access on the Microsoft or Google side

How to reauthorize

1. Go to My account → Service Integrations

2. Find the relevant Microsoft or Google integration

3. Click the Reauthorize button and follow the sign-in prompts

The Reauthorize button only appears for integrations where you are the owner. In this example, three Microsoft integrations are listed — Microsoft 365v, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Planner — but only one shows the Reauthorize button.

Don’t see the Reauthorize button? Only the app’s owner can reauthorize. Check the owner field on the app’s information tab to find out who to contact.

Reauthorize vs. Revoke — what’s the difference?

These are two distinct actions with very different outcomes:

Action

What it does

When to use it

Reauthorize

Renews the access token and restores the connection

Password changed, token expired, content stopped updating

Revoke

Permanently removes authorization and deletes all apps linked to that account

Only when completely disconnect all apps from a specific account

⚠️ Do not use Revoke if you only want to refresh your connection. Revoked apps cannot be recovered. If you need to revoke access, see the article Revoking Admin Permissions in Valotalive.
