MS Power BI report app - Activate and use

Share Microsoft Power BI Reports and dashboards on Digital Signage /info screens with secure integration.

Show Power BI reports and PowerBI dashboards on any TV or info screen securely using Microsoft Azure AD Authentication. No need to make your URLs public.

Prerequisites:

  • Using this apps requires an active MS Power BI account

  • Reports exist in either My Workspace or in Shared workplaces


Microsoft Power BI Reports app - Activate and use

Easiest way for activating a content App is from Valotalive Dashboard.

Just click the icon of the content you wish to activate and proceed. More detailed info of the first steps can be found here:

  2. Choose the preferred dashboard from the drop down (example below)


    Note! This list presents only the reports that you have access to. If you cannot find the report you are looking for, please check the following:

    • You as a Power BI user have access to the report in question in the Power BI cloud.

      • Report should be located either in the My Workspace or in a Shared Workspace that you have access to.

  3. SHOW ADVANCED

    1. Seconds per page

      How many seconds one page of the report is shown on the screen.

    2. Cycle pages in the report
      The last active page while modifying the report will be shown, if cycle pages are chosen.

    3. Enter Power BI report UUID manually
      This value will supersede the selected report.


      You can find UUID from the URL when you have report open in a browser, e.g. from

    4. Pages to show
      You can cycle only specific pages of the report if you wish. This option supersedes page cycling option.

    5. Filter to use
      Filtering can be used to narrow down what figures and/or tables are shown on the display. Filters are based on the Power BI presets and are imported to Valotalive. Required fields are marked with Asterisk (*)

      • Table

        Type in the Name of the table. Refers to the data table's name

      • Column

        Type in the Name of the column.

      • Filter type

        Choose the value from the drop-down

      • Values

        Type in the values you wish

    6. Data refresh interval
      How often is data fetched from servers

    7. Background

      Use report's background (Default) / Transparent

Complete the work by adding the app to a flow or directly to a display.
