If a reboot doesn't bring your media player back online, the issue is usually with the Ethernet connection, the network configuration, or a missing whitelist entry. Work through the checks below in order.
Step 1 - Check the Physical Ethernet Connection
Make sure the Ethernet cable is firmly plugged into both the media player and the router or switch.
Confirm the cable is connected to the correct VLAN - check with your network administrator if you're unsure.
Look at the port light indicator. It should be lit if the cable is connected and working.
If the cable looks fine but the port shows no activity, contact your network team to check the device status. Provide the device MAC address - usually found on the top of the media player box. If you have a Valotalive Managed Device, our support team can look up the MAC address for you.
Step 2 - Rule Out Network Restrictions
If the hardware looks fine, the network may be blocking the media player. Common causes:
Whitelist not updated - Valotalive and the device management endpoints must be whitelisted. These are usually set up during installation, but recent network changes can remove them.
Test by connecting to a different network
A guest Wi-Fi network, or
A mobile hotspot
If the media player comes online on the alternative network, the original network is blocking Valotalive â ask your IT team to whitelist the required domains.
Connecting to a different network requires a USB keyboard and mouse attached to the media player.

âDo not sign in to the Chrome device. From the bottom-left menu, select the Valotalive app and turn it on. Your content flow will start playing.
