Integrate your Digital Signage Displays with Microsoft 365 PowerPoint

Valotalive has a built-in integration with Microsoft 365 PowerPoint. With this you can get your display to follow your updates on the PowerPoint directly from OneDrive. The application can be activated in Valotalive dashboard with a few clicks.


App main features

✔ Secure authentication with Entra ID credentials (previously known as Azure AD credentials)

✔ PowerPoint files are easy to pick with OneDrive file picker

✔ Your Valotalive PowerPoint application will display your slides as they are

✔ Any updates on PowerPoint presentation will be updated to the displays within a short lead time

App settings

✔ One application in Valotalive is paired with one PowerPoint file

✔ Activate as many apps in Valotalive as you like to target different content on different screens

✔ Set a display time for pages, i.e 10 seconds

✔ Choose to display page numbers (optional)


MS PowerPoint app - Activate and use

Easiest way for activating a content App is from Valotalive Dashboard. Just click the icon of the content you wish to activate and proceed. More detailed info of the first steps can be found here:

Settings on the Apps' Configuration tab

  1. Theme

    Theme does not play a role in the PowerPoint app:
    Valotalive PowerPoint app takes screenshots of individual presentation pages and shows contents the same way it is on the presentation.

  2. Authorize using OAuth2 Authorization

  3. Choose your PowerPoint file

    OneDrive file picker is accessible after authentication. This allows you to choose the right file to display.

  4. SHOW ADVANCED settings

    1. Seconds per item

      How many seconds each page is shown on one (1) show cycle.


      Best practice is between 10-20 seconds.

    2. Show page numbers

      With multiple page presentation this setting shows page numbers:
      page number /number of pages

    3. Expand to full screen

      Removes margins to maximize the size of the image on the screen.

  5. Rename the App

    Rename the app by clicking the name on top of the page.

    The best practice is to name the App to match the selected data source, in this case the name of the Powerpoint presentation you are pulling information from.

Complete the work by adding the app to a flow or directly to a display.

The MS PowerPoint App will take screenshots of the presentations every 15 minutes showing the screenshots on the displays.

Choose the PowerPoint App if:

  • Your content is constantly updated: Perfect for information that's always on display and changes frequently. New additions automatically appear on screen.

  • Scheduling isn't necessary: No need to schedule individual messages. Simply add new content, and it'll show up automatically.

Publish with My Content Channel when:

  • Your content has a start and /or end date: Schedule content to display during a specific timeframe, with a clear start and/or end date.

  • You have videos: My Content Channel is specifically designed for sharing videos.

  • You create content on the go: Perfect for creating and publishing content directly from your mobile device.
